In a rural Arkansas community, an orphanage in the Ukraine and a village in Thailand, Fellowship partner churches are joining with CBF field personnel to help alleviate poverty.

Each year, hundreds of congregations travel to these places and others around the world to engage in hands-on missions.

The trips are short-term experiences, but for an increasing number of congregations, their mission engagement and commitment to fighting poverty is long term. As CBF field personnel, partner churches and organizations working together they form a network dedicated to addressing the systematic causes of poverty.

I have a couple of contacts in Nepal and will be glad to pass them along.
The first one may not be what you are looking for but she may be able to connect you to more appropriate resources. Her organization is http://rakshanepal.org.np/ and it is a NGO working on sex trade issues and response. She is a great person. Her name is Menuka Thapa.

I will have to get back with you on the other person with their contact info but they work with Health issues and are studying here in Atlanta at Emory University for the year.

I am exploring needs in Nepal...any one familiar with any organizations there, or with this one "Volunteer Initiative Nepal" (video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cb-eBrGBU3k&feature=related)? I am looking for resources relating to Nepalese culture, in particular parenting resources for the Nepali diaspora community in Hong Kong.
