Don, is there some other avenue in which I can share this need?  I am thinking about the Education/Training site on Facebook.  Please let me know if you think this is doable.

I am currently in Beijing, China and had a wonderful meeting today with Rev. Yu at the Yan Jing Theological Seminary. Rev. Yu has invited CBF to partner with the seminary to teach an English camp in July of 2011. We will teach 30 students who vary in English proficiency for four days. Please contact me at vwilliams@thefellowship.info if you are interested in joining us to teach English in China in July 2011.

Allen and I visited Sahasart School in Chiang Rai on Tuesday and met with the director Ajarn Wichai. The school would be a wonderful opportunity for someone or a couple to minister by teaching English to hill tribe children. The students at the school represent 10 different hill tribe people groups. Currently there are 2, 305 students at the school with about 60% coming Christian homes. Many of the students board at the school or in nearby boarding houses. All levels of English teaching are available from first grade to seniors in high school. The school will provide a one year visa. The school years is from May 15-mid-March.

English Teaching opportunities associated with the Thailand Baptist Missionary Fellowship are available in both Northern Thailand and Central Thailand.

In the North there are two opportunities:

Sahasart School near Chiang Rai is almost exclusively comprised of hill tribe students. The school offers housing, but beyond that the teacher will have to be self funded.

Sahamit School is a boarding school located in Musikee in the rural area of Northern Thailand. Teachers must be able to survive in a rural environment; eat Thai/Karen food; and live in a basic house (provided by the school) without running water or regular electricity. Ideal volunteer term would be 20 weeks. The area will very rarely have foreigners, so extreme caution should be followed in sending an indivual volunteer.

There are two teaching opportunities in the Bangkok area.

Mahachai Christian College recruits 2 native English speakers to teach children ages 3-12. Remunerations are offered. Candidates must be Christian, hold degrees in Education or if another degree is held, the candidate must pass an efficiency exam.

Sammuk Christian Academy in Nang Mon in the Chonburi Province is a boarding school for Thais and Chinese near Bangkok. The school requests that the candidate commit to 2 years in order to receive a fuller compensation package.

For more information regarding these 4 opportunities, Please write to any of the names listed below:

Verr Dean is going to serve as the English language specialist for the students during the NT Theology seminar being offered through ABGTS. The seminars are taught in English and the students have to write their papers in English. Verr Dean will be advising them with grammatical issues. ABGTS could use other people for this same role. You can attend the seminar or you can help the students by email. Good opportunity!
