I am finishing up a week at the Community Development Academy in St. Louis, MO. What a great week and well worth the visit!

The people I was in class with are just amazing people from all over the country and the world. These are people who are using their gifts and abilities to lead communities down the road of development and sustainability. These are folks with a lot of experience in there work but people who are so open to learning.

It has been a blessing to be with them this week and I would encourage anyone interested in learning more about community development to check out there website and classes. http://muconf.missouri.edu/commdevelopmentacademy/

There is a also another set of online community development classes as well. http://srdc.msstate.edu/fop/

The meeting was very encouraging. Carol and I got David to Newton, MS, to connect with his friend. We need to remember to pray for David and Jami as they seek the Lord's will in the East Carroll Parish opportunity.

We just finished up our annual meeting with the TFH Council in Perry County and it was a great meeting. I am very hopeful about what the future will hold. Thank you to everyone for your prayers.

I am sure that there will be many more updates coming soon!

I will be addding comments about Reverse MIssion trips for the youth
from our TFH areas that I would like for churches to consider.
In Powell and Owsley counties in Ky. our youth have gone to Charlotte,
Raleigh and Blacksburg, VA. This next summer they may be visiting
Winchester, VA. and then on to Washington DC.

Next week is TFH's Annual Council Meeting August 17-19. Please keep us in your prayers during that time. We will be talking about a number of key issues for TFH's future and be looking again at our goals and objectives for the next 2-3 years.

I have attached our current objectives and also our principles for everyone's review.

Amanda Ducksworth leads a new church start in Columbus, Mississippi. The young people have a community garden from which they share food with elderly and/or poor people in the community.
