November 19th I had the honor of representing the TFH Council at a 10 year celebration at Judson College of the work of Sowing Seeds of Hope.
Here is s link with some of my reflections on that experience http://cbfportal.wordpress.com/2010/11/29/giving-thanks-for-good-ro...

What a joy it is to be a part of this ministry! Thank you to everyone for your work around the country.

A question came up in a recent breakout session I was apart of. Does anyone know of any specific resources for rural churches seeking to be a part of their community's development? Just wondering... I know of some resources for small church growth, etc. but can' t think any community development related resources right now. thanks.

Hello, all. Please check out the nonpartisan Web site www.zerotothree.org -- I remain hopeful about our finding an effective way to address pre-literacy (reading readiness). Meanwhile, Merry Christmas! Tom

I am finishing up a week at the Community Development Academy in St. Louis, MO. What a great week and well worth the visit!

The people I was in class with are just amazing people from all over the country and the world. These are people who are using their gifts and abilities to lead communities down the road of development and sustainability. These are folks with a lot of experience in there work but people who are so open to learning.

It has been a blessing to be with them this week and I would encourage anyone interested in learning more about community development to check out there website and classes. http://muconf.missouri.edu/commdevelopmentacademy/

There is a also another set of online community development classes as well. http://srdc.msstate.edu/fop/
